Agency Description: Minnesota Institute of Public Health (MIPH) applies public health research and programming services to communities through project work commissioned by federal and state agencies, foundations, and other groups. The mission of MIPH is to promote "public health by collaborating with communities to create and provide innovative and culturally appropriate prevention services and products worldwide."

 

Project Description: The Minnesota Prevention Resource Center (MPRC) is managed by MIPH. The center is funded primarily by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Chemical Health Division. Since 1981, MPRC has provided information to Minnesota about preventing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use abuse and related violence. ACET services: MPRC in March of 2007 published an epidemiological profile on substance use for the state of Minnesota. ACET was contracted by MIPH in 2006 to review the State profile and provide feedback on the key findings. The State's profile can be viewed on MPRC's website:
