Agency Description: Learning Point Associates (LPA), d.b.a. The North Central Regional Educational Laboratory, is dedicated to helping schools—and the students they serve—reach their full potential. It specializes in the educational applications of technology and provides research-based resources and assistance to educators, policymakers, and communities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. LPA's ultimate goal is to help its clients build tools and apply proven practices to create schools where all students can develop their skills and abilities. LPA draws on the latest research and best practices to strengthen and support schools and communities in order to make this goal a reality.

Project Description: The READS Initiative Grant Program was initiated by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in 1999-2000 in an effort to positively affect student reading achievement and reduce the number of referrals to special education at elementary and secondary schools through the implementation of comprehensive reading programs.

ACET services: ACET was contracted to provide program evaluation services to the Wisconsin READS Initiative.
