in Minnesota. ServeMinnesota's vision is to inspire

Project Description:
Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) is an AmeriCorps program
managed by the Minnesota Literacy Council and
ServeMinnesota. The program serves children age 3 to
grade 3 in multiple locations statewide, including
Duluth, Twin Cities Metro, St. Cloud, Grand Rapids, and
Brainerd. Children in MRC classrooms receive literacy
instruction and tutoring support from AmeriCorp members
and volunteers. AmeriCorp members and volunteers are
trained in literacy instruction before placed in MRC
classrooms. The goal of the program is to increase
children’s literacy development and achievement in
reading.
