  Recovering Families, Creating Futures

Agency Description: Wayside House is a nonprofit dedicated to providing treatment for chemical abuse exclusively to women. The organization owns housing units so that recovering and recently sober women and their families have an opportunity to live in a safe, healthy environment. The mission of Wayside House is to "empower women to recover sobriety, identity, family, home and community by providing treatment, housing and support services."

Project Description: In 2006, Wayside House received a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services to provide chemical health and recovery treatment to pregnant women and mothers with dependent children, also known as the Recovering Families, Creating Futures (RFCF) program. RFCF is said to be an extension of Wayside House's mission statement.

ACET services: Wayside House hired ACET to assist in the development of a logic model and evaluation plan, assist in the revision of an existing data collection tool and in the development of a new tool, and in the development of a focus group script. Twice a year ACET facilitates a focus group with recent alumni from the RFCF program and summarizes the findings. ACET also provides TA to Wayside House staff as they prepare their annual, year-end report to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
