The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board represents 18 federally recognized American Indian tribes spanning four states – Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The Health Board’s mission is to provide advocacy, training, and resource and technical assistance through public and community health programs, such as Great Plains Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiative (GPCCSI).

The GPCCSI's goal is to provide support in increasing the rates of colorectal cancer screening in tribal communities of American Indian populations and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Comprehensive Cancer Control.
