Using IDI Information Well

If you’ve already completed the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) assessment and are wondering what to do next, ACET can help. We assist organizations, leaders, and employees with their IDI results. Consider these possible next steps:

1. Create a plan. Having a plan in place can help employees to learn more about cultural competency and how to build intercultural bridge building based on the organization’s goals and the IDI results.

2. Use the results. Pay attention to which data resonates with individuals and which challenges them. Work with employees to build buy in for next steps. Model the commitment to use results to strengthen their cultural competency, engagement, and team building.

3. Develop a timeline. Some organizations set a goal of moving the organization one step to the right on the IDI continuum. This requires that employees spend time building their knowledge and skills. A number of organizations then have employees retake the IDI assessment 6 months to 1 year after the initial assessment to mark progress.

At ACET, we have a Qualified Administrator (QA) who can assist you with your plans and next steps for using your IDI results. Our QA also can administer the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and the Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) Inventory. If you’re interested in having ACET assist you with the IDI, please contact us at info@acetinc.com. We offer a free initial consultation!
