Ramsey County Family Coaching Services (FCS)
ACET was commissioned by the Ramsey County Family Coaching Services (FCS) to collect stories demonstrating the impact of their family-centered coaching model, which aims to address families’ needs more holistically and more effectively than traditional social service program models.
This collection of impact success stories reflects experiences from the pilot implementation of Ramsey County Family Coaching Services (FCS). The project resulted in the development and dissemination of a communications package to provide a storytelling platform expressing the impact of the FCS program in various media for diverse audiences. For this reason, the document is divided into three sections:
An Executive Summary
A one-page Visual Summary
A collection of Key Themes and Stories
Design
Semi-structured interviews with community elders who guided the design of the program, family coaches who implement services through Family Values for Life, Montessori American Indian Childcare Center Leadership, and participating families who benefit from the FCS model.
Collaboration
The partnerships established for the implementation of the program were vital to the process of capturing impact stories, representatives of partner agencies participated throughout the design to reporting phases of the project.
Data Collection
Interview scripts were developed to guide the data collection process, utilizing prompts to highlight the cultural relevance of coaching experiences and participant perspectives.
Reports
A multimedia communications package resulted from the interview themes and story vignettes to support a deeper understanding of the FCS program impact and share these stories with multiple audiences.
Dissemination
The communications package included:
An Executive Summary providing background information about the program and the process for gathering the stories featured in this document.
A one-page Visual Summary that briefly summarizes the goals and impact of the FCS project through key themes and select quotes that can be used as a flier, handout, or presentation image.
A collection of Key Themes and Stories that provide additional details featuring quotes and images. This section is designed to be flexible for use in different media platforms. Each theme includes a summary section, along with a series of quotes, stories, and pictures that can be selected for use depending on the audience. This way, portions of the material can be used as needed for fliers, reports, presentations, websites, social media, etc.
